Established in 1982, this family medicine residency is the only residency at a 300+ bed community hospital affiliated with NEOMED, so residents face no competition from other specialties and run the inpatient medical teaching service. Training includes five months of pediatrics (largely at Children's Hospital Medical Center of Akron), critical care at Summa's Akron City Campus, obstetrics, and a population health month with POCUS, MAT training and a student-run free clinic.
