About the program
The Three Sisters Rural Track Program is a 1-2 family medicine residency run by OHSU in partnership with St. Charles Health System, and it is the first GME program in Central Oregon. Residents spend the intern year at an OHSU primary care clinic in Portland, then two years in Madras at St. Charles Madras, a critical access hospital, with continuity clinics at St. Charles Madras Family Care or Mosaic Medical Madras. Rotations include IHS Warm Springs, Prineville, and a largely Spanish-speaking inpatient service, and the curriculum teaches the culture and heritage of the local Native American and Latino communities.
